Development Site

description:

In today’s changing environment the need to retain existing mature trees on new development sites is paramount. The Arborists at Tree Practice have considerable experience protecting vulnerable trees during the construction process. Following BS 5837 2005 guidelines, we can provide the following services:

  • Practical advice regarding methods of tree and tree root protection and the suitability of such measures for individual sites
  • Installation of protective structures (such as fencing) to BS5837 standard
  • Installation of Cellular confinement systems (such as Cell web) to allow vehicular access within the Root Protection Area.
  • Site supervision by a qualified and experienced arborist during excavation works
  • Root sensitive excavation using compressed air to facilitate the installation of services within the RPA
  • Explorative investigation to identify the location of tree roots for foundation design
  • Remedial decompaction around roots of trees to be retained

“A tree which has lost its head will never recover it again, and will survive only as a monument of the ignorance and folly of its Tormentor.” ~George William Curtis
